With wide receiver DeVonta Smith currently dealing with a hamstring injury, the Philadelphia Eagles decided to add a familiar name to their wide receiver room earlier this week when they signed two-time All-Pro Julio Jones.
Jones emerged as one of the top pass-catchers in the league during his time as a member of the Atlanta Falcons for 10 seasons, but his last two years in the NFL were spent as a member of the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The former Falcons wide receiver hasn’t caught more than 31 passes in his last two seasons, so there are some who have doubts about the impact he can make for the Eagles this year.
One of those doubters is FS1’s Skip Bayless (a well-known Dallas Cowboys fan), who recently shared his thoughts on Philadelphia’s signing of Jones, via “Undisputed.”
“I believe [the Eagles] are living in the past. I think [they’re] still clinging to what Julio used to be.”
Julio Jones after signing with Eagles: “I’m here to dominate”

Bayless also mentioned that Jones has now been on four different teams in the last four years, so he’s clearly on a mission to win a Super Bowl ring before he eventually calls it quits.
Most people don’t like to ever admit this, but Bayless is probably right when it comes to his opinion on Philadelphia’s recent signing of Jones.
At the same time, no one really knows what the Eagles’ plans are for the veteran wide receiver this season, and with A.J. Brown still healthy and on their roster, it’s not like Jones is about to be made the team’s No. 1 receiver.
At this point in his career, Jones’ experience in the NFL is likely more valuable than anything, which is something Philadelphia is likely hoping they can use to their advantage this year.
