The Detroit Lions host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend in a battle of former No. 1 picks who were cast aside by their former teams.
Jared Goff will face Baker Mayfield with an NFC Championship Game appearance on the line.
Both teams have played well this year, with Detroit putting together a top-five offense and Tampa Bay taking the NFC South for a third consecutive season.
But between the two quarterbacks, Skip Bayless said on “Undisputed” he thinks Mayfield is the better player for this big postseason game.
“I’m going with Baker because he’s always been a big-game playmaker,” Bayless said. “… I think Baker Mayfield will outplay Jared Goff.”

Mayfield has moments of amazement, but he isn’t nearly as accomplished in the NFL as Goff – especially in the playoffs.
Mayfield won a playoff game for the Cleveland Browns in 2020 and just beat the Philadelphia Eagles, while Goff has played in a Super Bowl and four postseasons during his career.
Both teams are loaded on offense though, with the Buccaneers led by pass-catchers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, who both have Super Bowl experience, and second-year running back Rachaad White, while the Lions are led by running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery alongside wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Mayfield will get a better defensive matchup too against the Lions, who allowed the Los Angeles Rams to crawl back and only lose in the Wild Card round by one point.
At the very least, the two should put on a show with an NFC Championship Game berth on the line.
