LeBron James’ son Bronny James recently made headlines when he announced he was entering the transfer portal and leaving USC after one season, an announcement which he quickly followed up with another announcement that he was declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft.
It was a puzzling series of events that helped Bronny keep his options open before coming to a final decision, but one major analyst thinks he knows exactly what’s going to happen next.
Undisputed’s Skip Bayless said on his show that “Bronny will be a Los Angeles Laker next year whether you like it or not.”

Bayless added, “When I watched his USC games, I saw an NBA defender. He can hold his own on that side of the floor at the next level.”
Bronny played 25 games in his freshman year and mostly disappointed, averaging just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on 36.6 percent shooting.
He scored in double figures just three times and raised a lot of eyebrows by declaring for the draft after such a lackluster season in college.
If Bronny does get drafted, it will almost surely be due to his name and all that comes with it, which could be LeBron himself.
LeBron has said in the past he’d like to play with Bronny before he retires, and that alone could add the needed incentive for a team to draft Bronny.
Bayless also raised a great point about a potential Bronny/Lakers union, which would send an odd message to current veterans and likely have some questioning the direction of the franchise and if they are truly trying to win a title.
