Against all odds, the Oklahoma City Thunder are the top team in the Western Conference.
They are the youngest team to claim the top spot and they have surprised many by ending the year as the best team in the West.
Their success wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing work of the team’s lead star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Speaking on “Undisputed,” Skip Bayless said he would take Gilgeous-Alexander over Nikola Jokic for this year’s MVP.
He said that Jokic may be a better basketball player but Gilgeous-Alexander had a bigger impact on his team, meaning he is more deserving of Most Valuable Player.

Most estimates say that Jokic will be this season’s MVP, but Gilgeous-Alexander is definitely in the running too.
That’s because the guard has averaged 30.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game in 2023-24, earning his second consecutive All-Star selection and tons of praise from fans across the league.
He has had perhaps his best season ever and the Thunder have stormed through the league in a huge way, but will that be enough to give Gilgeous-Alexander his first MVP trophy?
The competition is very tough and Jokic has won twice before.
Plus, Jokic is a reigning champion and Finals MVP, giving him more of an edge.
The latest straw poll from inside the league said that Jokic is the clear favorite to win the coveted prize.
But perhaps this last stretch of the season will give Gilgeous-Alexander a big enough boost to earn him the award.
No matter what happens, everyone has noticed the Thunder star this year.
He might not be MVP but he’s definitely one of the biggest stars in the league now.
