Ever since star forward Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors was suspended for a game during the NBA Finals back in 2016 for striking then-Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James below the belt, he’s gotten the reputation for being a bit of a loose canon on the basketball floor, like Dennis Rodman and Ron Artest before him.

Although Green is one of the best defensive players in the league and a proven winner with four NBA titles to his credit while playing for the Warriors alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, he does come with a fair amount of risk, as he can lose his temper quickly and lash out resulting in suspensions from the league.

This past season for the Warriors was a perfect example of Green’s recklessness on the basketball floor, with the NBA making an example of him after multiple incidents during games, namely getting Minnesota Timberwolves star center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold while trying to protect one of his teammates.

Even though Green was given a lengthy suspension and got help off the floor during that time, he’s still considered a bit of a wild card, and Skip Bayless of FOX Sports believes he’s the “dirtiest player” in the history of the league via The Skip Bayless Show.

“Draymond Green is the dirtiest player in NBA history by far,” Bayless said.

That’s a bit of a strong statement, especially considering what used to happen when the Detroit Pistons were at their peak, with Isiah Thomas leading the way and Bill Laimbeer being arguably the dirtiest player in the NBA.

Green has undoubtedly done some questionable things on the floor and likely has done quite a few things he regrets, but he’s not the dirtiest player in league history when compared to dirty players of the past.
