Anthony Edwards believes he should be a number-one option for Team USA in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
He thinks he has what it takes to help his team win a gold medal and showed flashes of brilliance during their first exhibition game against Team Canada a few nights ago.
But Skip Bayless still isn’t entirely convinced of Edwards’ greatness.
Speaking on Friday’s “Undisputed,” Bayless said he doesn’t see “the right intangibles” to compare Edwards to Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and other NBA icons.
“I’m just not sure you’re that guy,” Bayless said while admitting that Edwards is still young and has time to grow.

To make his case, Bayless went back to the Minnesota Timberwolves’ recent playoff series against the Denver Nuggets.
In the last game of that series, Edwards went 1-for-8 in the fourth quarter even though the Timberwolves eventually won.
Bayless pointed out that Edwards had trouble in fourth quarters throughout the postseason, something that NBA fans wouldn’t see from Jordan, Bryant, and others.
Edwards has been outspoken and open about his jitters playing with Team USA.
He has also publicly commented on his own shortcomings and when he lets his team down.
At the same time, Edwards hasn’t shied away from sharing the belief he has in himself.
He truly does think he can be exactly what the Timberwolves and Team USA need.
Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce pushed back on Bayless’ opinion and said that Edwards was a key factor in Team USA’s win over Canada the other night.
He came off the bench, injected the team with great energy, and got them back on track after a lackluster start.
Bayless agreed but doesn’t know if Edwards will truly be the face of the league as some people believe.
