The Minnesota Timberwolves only needed one game to win as many games against the Denver Nuggets as they did all last season.
Chris Finch’s team traveled to the rocky mountains in Colorado to take Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals, making a big statement against the defending champions.
Anthony Edwards’ dominance shouldn’t be much of a surprise at this point.
However, the former No. 1 pick also had plenty of help from his role players, which is why Skip Bayless took to Twitter to praise the Wolves.
Per Bayless, it wasn’t shocking to see Edwards being the best player on the floor.
I am shocked the TWolves went into Denver and won this Game 1. I was not at all surprised by Ant Man. But I didn’t see Mike Conley and Naz Reid doing THAT.

Still, he didn’t expect Naz Reid and Mike Conley to rise to the occasion as well.
Reid was a major factor off the bench, scoring 16 points on 7-of-11 from the floor, adding two three-pointers, four rebounds, three dimes, and one steal.
Conley, on the other hand, put up 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go along with four boards, one steal, and ten assists.
Nikola Jokic was as good as always for the Nuggets, but Jamal Murray struggled mightily with his shot for most of the game, heating up in the second half.
The defending champions already knew that the Timberwolves — and especially Edwards — were much better than the team they beat in the first round last season.
Now, they might be in for their toughest task yet, and even though they will still be expected to win this series, the Timberwolves won’t just lay down and wait for them to storm right back.
