The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2024 NFL Draft with an obvious need for offensive linemen.

This has been one of the positions discussed during the offseason for this team, and if Dak Prescott is going to perform like the team wants him to, he needs time in the pocket.

Thankfully, this draft is said to be filled with several blue-chip offensive line prospects, seemingly giving the Cowboys a great opportunity.

However, their draft process didn’t go according to plan, at least according to known Cowboys fan, Skip Bayless.

Bayless discussed this in a special late-night version of “Undisputed,” where he expressed his frustration with their decision.

“The glaring need falls right in your lap at 24. Graham Barton will be a perennial Pro Bowl center,” Bayless said, adding, “No, you gotta get cute, you gotta get an extra third-round pick.”

He went on to say, “I’m an Oklahoma fan, and I don’t like Tyler Guyton.”

Given how the draft played out to that point, Barton seemed to be the direction the Cowboys were headed, but they ended up trading back, as Bayless highlights.

They did take an offensive lineman in Guyton, but he’s not the player Bayless wanted them to take.

He called Guyton a “project,” which suggests that he might not be ready to start Week 1 for this team.

The Cowboys do have other picks in the draft to further address the position but without a solid first-round selection, at least in Bayless’ eyes, this team is no longer a playoff contender.
