The Boston Celtics welcomed Kristaps Porzingis back on Thursday night and they were elated to see what he produced during Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

In just 20 minutes, Porzingis scored 20 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 61.5% from the field and 50% from the three-point line.

Skip Bayless was one of the many people amazed by Porzingis’ work, praising the talented big man on Twitter.

“Porzingis comes out of nowhere off the bench and goes berserk. He had no pressure because no one expected anything from him,” Bayless tweeted.

Before Thursday’s Game 1, Porzingis had been on the bench for weeks due to an injury he suffered at the start of the playoffs.

The Celtics were forced to get on without him and they were able to find a ton of great success in his absence.

Some people thought that reaching the Finals was impossible without Porzingis but Boston proved that wasn’t the case.

Still, they were very eager to get him back as soon as possible, although some people were worried that he wouldn’t look like his regular self.

Recovering from an injury is never easy and many people assumed Porzingis would need more time to fully recover and get back in good shape.

When the team announced he’d be coming off the bench, many feared that was because he wasn’t completely ready to go.

Instead, he got to work right away, playing with impressive speed, skill, and efficiency.

Bayless stated that many people didn’t expect much from Porzingis and that is true.

Because the Celtics had done so well without him, numerous people didn’t envision Porzingis being a big part of their plans for Thursday night.

But that wasn’t the case and Boston fans are very happy about that.
