The NBA MVP award is always an intense race with many great players in the league.

This season’s vote looks like it is coming down to two players.

Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.

Jokic has won the last two MVP awards, and Embiid has finished second in both years.

But, it looks like their roles will be reversed this season.

Embiid has been the best player in the NBA; look no further than his scoring ability to confirm that.

The 76ers star leads the NBA in scoring at 33.3 points per game.

Also, he might have just secured the MVP trophy with an incredible performance on Tuesday night.

Facing the Boston Celtics, Embiid scored 52 points and was incredibly efficient from the field.

He made 20 of 25 shots and added 13 rebounds.

That game against one of the best teams in the NBA should end the MVP race.

Skip Bayless believes that to be the case for the 76ers star.

While the MVP award is great for Embiid, he has a championship on his mind.

Embiid has never made it to the conference finals in his career, and he hopes to end that drought this season.

To do so the Sixers will most likely have to go through the Celtics in the second round.

The 76ers have struggled against their rivals in recent years, but Embiid has a chance to turn the tide in Philly’s favor.
