Over and over, LeBron James has proven to be one of the most clutch players in NBA history.
Nonetheless, he’s also fallen short multiple times, which is what happens when you play in the league for 21 years, most of them making the playoffs.
Regardless of the countless instances in which he’s proven that he could take over a game and single-handedly win it, Skip Bayless has never bought that narrative.
That’s why, following another epic meltdown vs. the Denver Nuggets, he didn’t hesitate to call LeBron out for the loss.
In today’s edition of “Undisputed,” Bayless doubled down on his take by stating that LeBron simply doesn’t have the “clutch gene.”

He argued that James took over and was very solid in the fourth quarter, but he couldn’t finish the job by missing a wide-open three-pointer that could’ve won the game for his team.
Truth be told, the Lakers may not want to be counting on a 39-year-old player to win a playoff game vs. the reigning NBA champions, and the fact that James has to put the team on his shoulders is a knock against Anthony Davis.
Davis only took one shot and went scoreless in the fourth quarter.
So, as much as his 32 points might look impressive for box-score watchers, he should also have plenty of the blame for letting this 20-point lead slip right through his fingers.
James doesn’t have anything left to prove in his career, but some of his teammates can’t say the same.
