The Dallas Cowboys’ future looks bleak, to say the least.
Dak Prescott will play this season in the final year of his contract, and given the way he’s been treated this offseason, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he decided to leave.
It also wouldn’t be a surprise if they chose not to pursue him.
That’s why watching Trey Lance’s performance in the preseason finale was such a big concern for Skip Bayless and Cowboys fans.
The former San Francisco 49ers draft pick threw five interceptions against the Los Angeles Chargers’ backup defense.
Following the loss, Bayless took to Twitter to share one of his famous rants, stating that he just couldn’t defend Lance anymore.

He admitted that he really wanted Lance to fare well in this game, so he could feel like they could have someone better than Prescott in the future.
And as much as he loves his work ethic, traits, and whatnot, he just couldn’t defend him after throwing five interceptions against backups.
Bayless finished his rant by stating that this has been the story with this year’s Cowboys.
The season hasn’t even started, but things don’t look good in Arlington at all.
CeeDee Lamb has yet to report, the fans already have doubts about Prescott and Mike McCarthy in the playoffs, and Jerry Jones is doing everything to get on his players’ bad side.
And while Lance is still young, he’s been around the league long enough for coaches and scouts to give up on him already.
