The NFL has been fortunate enough to see numerous father-son pairings come through the league and make their respective marks.

The 2024 NFL Draft features one of the most highly-touted wide receiver prospects in recent memory as Marvin Harrison Jr. is expected to be the first wideout off the board.

Harrison is of course the son of Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison Sr., who played 13 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.

The next wave of NFL players has shown they are as talented as their parents and one name to watch out for in the coming years is cornerback Camdin Portis.

Portis is the son of former NFL running back Clinton Portis and he revealed that he got an offer from his father’s alma mater Miami, via his personal Twitter account.

“After a great conversation with @coach_cristobal and @Co_Jackson21 I am grateful to say that I have received an offer from @CanesFootball!” Portis tweeted.

Clinton was a member of the legendary 2001 team that went undefeated during the regular season and went on to win the 2001 championship.

That roster produced 38 NFL draft picks, including Andre Johnson and Ed Reed.

Camdin is part of the 2026 class and will have a couple of years before he needs to make a decision, though a player of his pedigree and skillset will have more offers coming.

It’ll be interesting to see if the younger Portis decides to follow his father’s footsteps or carve his own path.
