Whenever a new NBA season begins, most people are excited for the rookie class.
There is always hype surrounding the top picks and how they will perform against NBA competition.
But, we have not seen a rookie with more hype surrounding him than Victor Wembanyama.
The first-overall pick has had all the eyes on him during the first few games of his NBA career.
His hype is similar to that of LeBron James when he got drafted first overall out of high school.
Wembanyama is from France and has plenty of players around the league rooting for him to succeed.
According to Legion Hoops, Rudy Gobert loves watching Wembanyama play.
He said: “I’m kind of like a proud dad when I watch him play.”

Gobert is from France just like Wembanyama and he is proud of what the rookie is doing.
For Wembanyama, it would be easy to get caught up in the hype of his NBA arrival.
But, he has lived up to the expectations after his first eight games.
The 19-year-old is averaging 18.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.
His 7-foot-4 frame and freakishly long arms make it easy for him to block shots.
There is still a long way to go in his rookie season, but things could not be going better.
The Spurs are still a little ways away from getting back into playoff contention.
At least they know they have their cornerstone piece to build around on the roster.
The NBA is lucky to have Wembanyama as he has become must-see TV.
