Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of many who have been completely blown away by the emergence of Cincinnati Reds prospect and shortstop Elly De La Cruz.

De La Cruz has impressed many around the sports world with his power, speed, and fast exit velocities when he swings the bat.

The young Reds star even proclaimed that he is the “fastest man in the world.”

And so, Mahomes decided it would be a good time to ask the young prospect for a gift.

Mahomes got a bat from De La Cruz, who signed it “the fastest man in the world,” per MLB Life on Twitter.

This is certainly a unique gift that Mahomes received from the No. 4 prospect in all of baseball.

However, De La Cruz clearly didn’t want all the glory to go to Mahomes and chose to sign a special message on the bat.

The top shortstop prospect has received some national praise for his unique on-the-field abilities, and has also received a little attention for his “fastest man in the world” comment.

And so, the name appears to be sticking for De La Cruz.

But Mahomes is getting a taste of what De La Cruz is capable of by receiving this bat.

It’s a special gift received from the man himself.

Mahomes also got a signed ball from De La Cruz in addition to his bat.

The star quarterback has two Super Bowl rings to his name, but now has two incredible gifts from one of the most exciting young prospects in all of baseball.
