One of the toughest injuries to see in the NFL last season was the one suffered by Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson.
The first-round pick played in just four games before being lost for the season due to a major shoulder injury.
Richardson is now back at training camp and fully healthy entering his second NFL season.
In a recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Richardson talked about the effect the injury had on him.
“It was kind of hard for me for sure. … It definitely took a little bit of my spirit away from me,” the 22-year-old said at training camp.

Anytime a competitive player has to sit out a season, it can be very tough.
The reason Richardson is in the NFL is because he loves football and has devoted his life to the game.
When he went down, it was a gut punch for him, the Colts and their fan base. But now that he’s back, the sky is the limit for this team.
Despite losing Richardson, veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew nearly led the Colts to the playoffs as the team finished 9-8.
After seeing what this team could do with a less talented quarterback, imagine what they can do with a healthy Richardson.
In the four games he played last year, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft put up seven total touchdowns and threw just one interception.
He threw for 577 yards and ran for 136 yards in four games, showing off his mobility.
The Colts can be a real sleeper in the AFC if they keep their starting quarterback healthy and the rest of the team plays up to their potential.
