The Chicago Bulls hired Arturas Karnisovas to rebuild their roster and get them back to contention, and he’s done an outstanding job of it, but things aren’t working out.

The Orlando Magic are 12-5, while the Bulls are 5-13.

And why does that matter? Well, because the Nikola Vucevic trade pretty much paved the way for the team they’ve built over the past three years or so, all while the Bulls continue to plummet.

As pointed out by Bulls insider K.C. Johnson, the Bulls’ trio of Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach LaVine have shared the court for 370 minutes — the 11th most in the league — and they have a net rating of minus-13.9.

It’s become more than evident that this Bulls roster isn’t good enough to compete.

They have good players, but neither of them is a franchise player, and they’re just not a good fit together either.

The Bulls gave up a lot of assets and moved on from players to get their core together.

In hindsight, all that was a mistake.

Of course, not having Lonzo Ball on the court has been a major blow, but chances are things wouldn’t be much different if he were playing.

It also seems like Billy Donovan has lost the locker room, and there doesn’t seem to be a clear answer to their struggles right now.

Expect the Bulls to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline, and whether Karnisovas will be there to lead the rebuild or not remains to be seen.
