The Oklahoma City Thunder selected Chet Holmgren with the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Unfortunately, Holmgren missed the entire season due to an injury and played his first game as a rookie in the 2023-24 NBA season.

Previously, the spotlight was on the first overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, Victor Wembanyama, but over the past few weeks, Holmgren has certainly announced his arrival in the NBA.

In fact, Holmgren is leading every rookie in the league in a major statistic this season, as revealed via StatMuse on Twitter.

As mentioned in the above tweet, Holmgren is leading the list of the best +/- among rookies for the 2023-24 NBA season.

The Thunder center holds the top spot with a +/- of +115 so far in the season.

Considering Holmgren is playing just the first season of his career, he has certainly shown shades of becoming a superstar in the NBA in the future.

For the season, Holmgren is averaging 17.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Thunder.

Thanks to Holmgren’s incredible rookie year, the Thunder are currently one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

Following their recent 134-120 win over the Utah Jazz, the Thunder are now the second seed in the West with a 15-7 record.

Holmgren and the Thunder have a genuine chance of clinching the top seed in the conference, as they are just 2.0 games behind the current No. 1 seed in the West, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
