Making the adjustment from the NBA to FIBA basketball is tough for some players.

Foreign players who grew up playing on those courts, with those basketballs, and under those sets of rules usually have an easier transition when they make it to the NBA, as the court is more spread out and the refs aren’t as strict.

Recently, New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram is going through a major slump.

Ever since he joined Team USA ahead of the FIBA World Cup, his shot just isn’t falling, up to the point where he was even sent to the second unit in favor of Josh Hart.

Ingram has failed to score in doubled digits in any of the four games he’s played with Team USA thus far, and his woes were once again evident vs. Montenegro (Via The Dunk Central).

The former Los Angeles Lakers forward scored just two points on 1-for-3 shooting, adding five rebounds and three assists.

Fortunately for him, the rest of the team has managed to pick up the scoring slack, but his shot and confidence seem way off right now.

Coach Steve Kerr talked about the synergy that Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, and Mikal Bridges have when they’re on the court together, as they know each other from their days at Villanova.

Nonetheless, more than that, it’s evident that Ingram’s play was hurting his team.

Still, he’s one of the most talented young players in the league, and all it takes is one good game to get the groove back.
