It didn’t take long before the Dallas Mavericks found their new franchise player.
Dirk Nowitzki was still there to pass him the torch, and Luka Doncic didn’t hesitate to embrace the responsibility of being the face of the franchise.
The former Real Madrid player took the league by storm, and he’s posted video game-like numbers since he arrived from overseas.
To put in context just how dominant he’s been, Bleacher Report shared a graphic showing that he’s actually posted better numbers than LeBron James through the first 30 postseason games of his career.
Thus far, Doncic has averaged 32.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game, topping LeBron’s averages of 27.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 7.1 dimes per game.

Needless to say, any time you have better numbers than LeBron James, you’re doing things right.
Doncic has a legitimate opportunity to take down most of his records, including the most points scored in NBA history.
Of course, whether he’s going to be willing or even interested in playing for that long remains to be seen.
Doncic has usually been a durable player, but LeBron’s longevity has been unmatched, and it’s hard to envision someone even coming close to him in that regard, even with today’s technology and medicine.
Whatever the case, Doncic has been one of the best players in the league for years now, and while he hasn’t capped it off with a trip to the NBA Finals or an MVP award, it shouldn’t take long before he gets one, the other, or maybe even both.
