The Miami Heat haven’t had the easiest 2023 NBA Finals series for a variety of reasons.

Besides the Denver Nuggets playing at a high level, the Heat’s role players have been a shell of themselves in the series.

Max Strus and Caleb Martin’s level of play have decreased from the Boston Celtics series.

To put things in perspective, Strus is shooting 20% on wide-open 3-pointers in the NBA Finals.

This is worrisome for the Heat.

He went from averaging 9.4 points in the Eastern Conference Finals and shooting 41.8% from the field to 4.3 points in the Finals and shooting 16.1% from the field.

His 3-point shooting percentage went from 34.2 to 19.2. This is a terrible situation for the Heat if they want to make a comeback in this series.

In the last two games of the Finals, Strus has only scored three points.

This doesn’t seem promising for Miami. They need to bring their A-game to Ball Arena or the Nuggets will have an easy walk to the win and the championship.

Jimmy Butler remains confident that the team can get the job done.

But if his supporting cast doesn’t improve, Miami will have to work extra hard to get this win and force Game 6.

Strus needs to show up or the season will end in Denver.
