Although the Pittsburgh Steelers are at home for Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers, the team has completely looked out of sync.
The Steelers came into the game feeling optimistic about their chances as the team has seen steady progress from Kenny Pickett.
Pickett comes into the year as Pittsburgh’s unquestioned starter, but he and the offense have found basically no room to operate against a ferocious San Francisco defense.
The 49ers managed to agree on an extension with Nick Bosa right before the matchup against the Steelers and he and the rest of the defensive line have made life difficult for Pickett and the run game.
With the first half coming to a close, Pittsburgh’s offense has failed to move the ball and the numbers paint quite the nightmare via Pardon My Take.

Fans looking at the graphic might think that’s a typo, but the Steelers have truly failed to extend drives and push the ball downfield.
On the flip side, Brock Purdy has found no issues carving up their defense as he’s been able to find Brandon Aiyuk for a couple of touchdowns already.
Christian McCaffrey has also been a major issue per usual as he’s gashed the Steelers on the ground multiple times.
Pickett and the rest of the offense clearly look overmatched and although they’ve managed to find some rhythm toward the end of the first half, they’ll definitely have their work cut out for them in the second half as San Francisco can already smell a win.
