As NBA training camp approaches, the NBA is waiting to see what happens between the Philadelphia 76ers and James Harden.
After failing to reach an agreement on a contract extension, Harden requested a trade from the 76ers though the franchise has been unwilling to meet his demand.
The star guard has reportedly had his eyes set on joining the Los Angeles Clippers, though up to this point, there haven’t been any rumblings of a potential trade getting done.
Philadelphia and Daryl Morey appear ready to go into the 2023-24 NBA season with Harden on the roster despite the obvious awkward moments that will come with the decision.
It’s hard to read just how far the 76ers are willing to go when it comes to Harden as he’s made it clear he’s not happy with the team anymore.
However, it’s hard to blame Morey for not just trading away Harden for pennies on the dollar as he’s got an impressive track record of making the playoffs via ESPN.

Making the postseason 14 consecutive times is a massive accomplishment, though fans and the media will find ways to knock Harden because of his tendency to disappear in big games.
Just getting to the playoffs isn’t good enough for The Beard at this stage of his career as the only thing really missing from his resume is an NBA championship.
Philadelphia may be playing hardball with Harden as they seek out the best deal, but sooner or later the two will part sides and finally move on from this drama.
