The Chicago Bears had lost their past 14 games, and Justin Fields currently had the worst winning percentage of all quarterbacks in the league, going just 6-35 thus far.
That infamous streak finally came to an end during their trip to Maryland to face the Washington Commanders, and Fields had a lot to do with that.
He was coming off his best performance of the season last week, but the Bears crumbled under pressure and still lost to the Denver Broncos.
That wasn’t the case vs. Ron Rivera’s team.
He torched their defensive backs over and over by making plays with his feet and finding D.J. Moore in stride, finally showing glimpses of that promising connection after three weeks of somewhat underwhelming results.
More than that, Yahoo Sports’ tweet shows just how big of a turnaround Fields has had over the past couple of weeks, throwing for a whopping 617 yards and eight touchdowns.

Notably, Fields’ talents have never been put into question.
Dating back to his days in high school, it became more than evident that he had everything he needed to become a successful quarterback in the National Football League.
But the Bears were doing him a disservice and holding him back with the way they were using him.
They need to cut him loose and allow him to roll out of the pocket, just like he’s done in the past couple of games.
And while he might not be there next season, he could still have a bright future in this league somewhere else.
