Over the past few years, the Los Angeles Chargers have been one of the more disappointing teams in terms of living up to expectations in the NFL playoffs, as they can’t seem to get over the hump when the season is on the line in the postseason.

Despite the team’s shortcomings in the playoffs, there’s no doubting the talent the team has at the quarterback position, as Justin Herbert has become a bona fide superstar only three years into his NFL career with the Chargers.

Although Herbert hasn’t reached the heights of Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes in terms of postseason success, the Chargers superstar has ascended to elite status at the quarterback position, and one stat in particular shows just how incredible his first three seasons have been.

According to Pro Football Reference, Herbert has more completions than any other quarterback in NFL history over the course of the first three seasons of their career, with former Indianapolis Colts star Andrew Luck sitting 254 completions behind him, which is incredible.

Clearly, Herbert has already made a considerable impression during his short time in the NFL and could be critical to the Chargers finally winning a Super Bowl title, especially with the pressure of playing in Los Angeles starting to mount on the franchise.

The only thing holding Herbert back from being in the conversation for the league’s best quarterback is his success in the playoffs.

If Herbert can put it together this season or in the near future, he’ll get some consideration in the best-in-the-league debate, but until then, he still needs to prove himself when the lights are shining the brightest in the NFL.
