The FIBA World Cup is well underway, with some of the best basketball players in the world representing their countries in a tournament that has become a hot topic of discussion.

Unlike in the past, this tournament showcases quite a few NBA stars spread across a number of different teams, including the United States and Canada.

Although Team USA seems like the team to beat as the tournament progresses into the second round of the group stage, Slovenia is starting to make some noise, with superstar Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks putting on a show on a nightly basis.

Currently, Doncic is the scoring leader in the FIBA World Cup, with the Mavericks superstar averaging three points more per game than the player below him, which happens to be Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, via StatMuse.

Every player on this list is a current or former NBA player, with some of the best in the league leading the way in Doncic, Towns, Jordan Clarkson, Lauri Markkanen, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Most PPG in the FIBA World Cup:

27.3 — Luka Doncic
24.3 — Karl-Anthony Towns
24.0 — Jordan Clarkson
23.0 — Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
23.0 — Lauri Markkanen
22.3 — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
21.8 — Tremont Waters
20.5 — Josh Giddey

Even though Team USA is undefeated up to this point in the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, not one of Steve Kerr’s players made this list, which shows how much talent there is in the FIBA World Cup right now.

It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out, as it will be no easy task for Team USA to come out on top with a lot of teams and players gunning for the Americans.
