Last season, the duo of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic on the Dallas Mavericks didn’t work out so well and the team didn’t even manage to make the playoffs.

This season, things are looking much better.

StatMuse did some number-crunching and uncovered that Irving and Doncic are playing some of the best basketball of their careers right now.

Irving is averaging 23 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game while Doncic is producing 32.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 8.5 assists.

This is one of the reasons why the Mavericks are looking great in 2023-24.

The team currently has a record of 8-2, which means they are tied with the Denver Nuggets for first place in the Western Conference standings.

Sharing a spot with the reigning champions isn’t a bad way to start the season.

When Irving signed a deal with the Mavericks last season, people wondered how he would fit alongside Doncic.

Even with all their strengths on the court, could this duo develop into the best in the league?

They had to adjust and find a way to work together but they are finally looking better than ever.

Now fans are curious about how competitive they can be all season long.

Most people agree that this season carries a lot of importance and if it doesn’t go well, Doncic could possibly request a trade in the near future.

That would be devastating to the Mavericks so the future of the team might be riding on the success of this season.

Irving and Doncic are making magic together right now but they have to keep it up.
