Although they have won games without him playing well (or sometimes at all), it is obvious that life is much harder for the Los Angeles Lakers when Anthony Davis isn’t competitive.

That’s why this postseason has been so frustrating at times for the Lakers.

For every great game that Davis delivers, a middling one is seemingly set to follow.

ESPN accumulated all of his point totals during the playoffs, and you can see multiple games when he scored 20+, or even 30+, points.

There have also been a few games when he has barely cracked double digits.

That happened again on Thursday night.

While playing against the Golden State Warriors, Davis was a non-factor, only producing 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Unsurprisingly, the Lakers were blown out in that game.

Davis has become a huge factor for the Lakers on both offense and defense.

Whether it’s posting easy buckets, catching alley-oops, or grabbing boards, Davis has multiple roles.

When he is not playing like his regular self, the entire team suffers.

This troubling pattern has followed Davis a lot this season, and it has fans wondering why.

Is it a mental block or are there physical limitations at play that restrict his abilities after a big game?

Whatever is causing it, Davis needs to improve his consistency if the Lakers hope to overcome the Warriors and make the Western Conference Finals.

Davis has been having one of his best seasons ever and is looking like he did a few years ago when the Lakers won the championship.

Still, consistency is one part of his game that definitely needs to be improved.
