The NFL was hit by an earth-shaking move on Wednesday when the Buffalo Bills traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.
It had been rumored that Diggs would be moved for months, and while the Bills will take a step back, the Texans are now looking, at least on paper, like possible Super Bowl contenders.
He sent his first message to his new fan base as a member of the Texans on Thursday, per the Texans’ official Twitter account, and he’s clearly ready to get to work.

Diggs has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons, and last year, he caught 107 passes for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns.
But dating back to the end of the 2022 campaign, he had been dogged by rumors that he was unhappy with the Bills organization and quarterback Josh Allen.
The 30-year-old Diggs is now joining a Texans team that already blossomed last season by going 10-7 and making it to the divisional round of the playoffs.
Houston had already traded for running back Joe Mixon and added four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Danielle Hunter this offseason, and their quarterback C.J. Stroud became an instant star in 2023 during his rookie season.
Interestingly, the Texans have gotten rid of the final three years of Diggs’ contract, which means he can become a free agent next offseason.
Added incentive for Stefon Diggs: As part of the Buffalo-Houston trade, the Texans wiped out the final three years on Diggs’ contract, giving him the ability to become a free agent after this season, league sources tell ESPN. This could mean he will be even more motivated this coming season to put forth a career-best effort for a team that will surely see it’s stock continue to rise.
