Stephen Curry is already one of the greatest point guards — and players — in NBA history.
He took the league by storm in the mid-2010s, cutting the so-called LeBron James era short and winning four championships in six trips to the NBA Finals.
However, as crazy as it may seem, he had never played in the Olympics.
Either because of being snubbed or other commitments, the Golden State Warriors stars had never been able to make it to the summer festivities.
Nonetheless, his record with Team USA is more than encouraging for Steve Kerr’s side, as he’s a perfect 18-0 in two appearances in the FIBA World Cup (via NBA on ESPN).

No. 30 was a part of the national team in 2010 and 2014, and while he still wasn’t at his peak, he was still a steady contributor for Mike Krzyzewski’s team back then.
Thus far, Curry has averaged 7.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.6 three-pointers per game in just 15.9 minutes and 43% from beyond the arc.
Now, he’s expected to be the team’s starting point guard, with another rising star like Tyrese Haliburton as his backup this time around.
Team USA is coming off a very disappointing outing in the last FIBA World Cup, which is why they don’t want to take any chances in the Olympics.
Also, with most of the league’s old guard knowing their time is coming to an end, they’ve decided to team up in this Avengers-like initiative to have one last dance all together, with Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant at the forefront.
