Steph Curry Names 2 Players He Modeled His Game After

The Golden State Warriors were never the same after Stephen Curry’s arrival, and the same can be said of the NBA as a whole.

The skinny point guard out of Davidson wound up becoming the greatest shooter of all time, and he also redefined the way the game is played as a whole.

However, even those with natural abilities, like Steph, had to take some things from here and there to develop a game of their own.

Recently, he talked a little bit about that, all while eating some spicy wings on the “First We Feast” YouTube channel.

When asked about the players he modeled his game after, Steph first told the story of how he and his little brother Seth would always emulate Alonzo Mourning’s free throw routine, stating that he had a “little splash” of Mourning.

Then, he chose Steve Nash and Reggie Miller, which are obviously way more similar to his game than Mourning.

Miller owned most three-point-related records before Curry shattered every single one of those marks, and he was arguably the first player who used the three-pointer as a legit and consistent weapon.

As for Nash, they’re both elite playmakers who don’t strike with athleticism but can control the pace and the tempo of the game, not to mention their incredible ability to shoot efficiently from all three levels.

At the end of the day, Steph turned out to be his own player.

And as much as people try to copy him, he’s simply unique.
