Stephen Curry was more than just the most prominent point-maker for his Golden State Warriors on Sunday afternoon.
He was also the team’s leader in multiple ways.
NBA Insider Shams Charania spoke of the inspiring pep talk that Curry gave his Warriors before their massive 120-100 win over the Sacramento Kings.
Noting tension within the team, Curry laid it out plainly.
“We have enough to win, you just need to trust me,” Curry reportedly said, according to Charania on FanDuel TV.
“If you want to put your feelings to the side, come on the bus, trust me, and I got this,” he added.

Curry gave this speech before the team loaded up on the bus and drove the short distance to Sacramento.
They all knew that if they didn’t win the game, the season was over for them.
According to Charania, there were some uncomfortable feelings among certain players during Game 6, when the Warriors played poorly and fell to the Kings at home.
Curry couldn’t let those feelings get the best of them.
He told the players that if they couldn’t leave their personal feelings out of the pursuit of another championship and didn’t think the Warriors could win, they shouldn’t get on the bus with the rest of the team.
But any player capable of putting that aside and focusing solely on coming together as a unit was invited to ride to Sacramento.
Curry knew he had to put a lot on his shoulders to make the second round.
He had to not only inspire his team off the court but also lead them on the floor too.
That is precisely what he did with a tremendous showing of 50 points.
From the locker room to the paint, Curry was the center of the Warriors on Sunday afternoon.
