The Golden State Warriors kicked off their offseason by trading Jordan Poole and replacing him with Chris Paul in perhaps one of the most shocking turn of events in recent times.

Unfortunately, they also lost a key contributor to their second unit in Donte DiVincenzo, who left to join the New York Knicks.

Even so, given the couple of additions they made thanks to the NBA Draft, adding Chris Paul and also signing Dario Saric, Stephen Curry believes their roster actually makes more sense right now.

“Our team makes a lot more sense this year.”

Per Curry, the Western Conference will always be tough, and they already know some of the teams that will make a lot of noise, citing the Denver Nuggets and praising reigning Finals MVP Nikola Jokic.

Nonetheless, he thinks their roster is deeper and more balanced ahead of the upcoming campaign, and he sounded quite confident about their ability to get the job done.

Truth be told, the Warriors will be legit NBA championship contenders for as long as Stephen Curry is healthy.

He struggled with injuries last season, so having Chris Paul now to back him up could end up being huge for the team next season.

Likewise, they’ll need some of the young players to step up and fill in for the departed Jordan Poole, who was their leading scorer off the bench and also slid onto the starting lineup every now and then.

It won’t be easy, but the Warriors still have their championship core intact and one of the best coaches of all time on the sidelines, and they still believe they can compete at the highest level.
