This could be the dawn of a new era for the Golden State Warriors.
Stephen Curry continues to be a superstar and lead the way, but the Splash Brothers days could be a thing of the past, at least in the starting lineup.
Klay Thompson seems to have lost his starting spot to rookie SG Brandon Podziemski.
He came off the bench for the first time since 2012 in the Warriors’ win over the Utah Jazz, and it was for the best, as he had one of his best games in recent years with a 35-point performance.
Nonetheless, as efficient as he was, it was still an odd sight for his most famous teammate.
When asked about watching Thompson coming off the bench, Curry called it ‘weird’ to see (Via Warriors on NBC Sports).

Thompson has already admitted that he’s willing to embrace a lesser role if that’s what it takes to stay with the Warriors and help the team win another championship.
He claimed that he could mold his game to what Ray Allen and Reggie Miller did later in their careers, adding that they’re actually similar players.
He’s going to be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, and he has shot his way out of the lucrative deal he was looking for.
Even so, that doesn’t mean he cannot be a great contributor to a championship-contending team.
The Warriors are in 10th place right now, but they’re still not the kind of team you want to come across in the postseason.
