Year after year, people talk about how this could be the end of the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty.
Year after year, Steve Kerr’s team continues to push and fight to prove them wrong.
Notably, against all odds, this season might not be the exception to that rule.
The Warriors have struggled with inconsistency all season, particularly at home, but they’re still in play for a postseason berth.
That’s why, after watching them dominate the Los Angeles Lakers last night, Stephen A. Smith stated that people shouldn’t sleep on them.
Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” the pundit pointed out the fact that the Warriors have beaten the Lakers three out of four times this season, and that bodes well for their potential matchup in the Play-In Tournament.

Smith also stated that the Warriors are just 0.5 games behind the Lakers, so they could look to get home-court advantage for that game or even take the Sacramento Kings’ No. 8 spot in the Western Conference, which would give them two chances of making the playoffs.
He acknowledged that the Warriors still don’t have enough to beat the Denver Nuggets, but they’re a proven team that’s getting hot at the right time, and they could square off against a young and unproven team like the Oklahoma City Thunder or Minnesota Timberwolves.
This Warriors team isn’t the best they’ve had by any means.
But you can never sleep on Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green once the lights get bright and they reach the playoffs.
