The NBA’s All-Star Weekend was far from what the fans wanted to see.
Throughout the whole weekend, NBA fans took to social media to bash the product, and it was hard to blame them.
The players didn’t seem to take the Skills Competition seriously at all.
Mac McClung was lights out again in the slam dunk contest, but the fact that NBA stars refuse to partake in this event has made it less appealing to the fans.
Finally, the All-Star game saw a new mark of 397 points scored, and while that could’ve been exciting to some, basketball fans complained about the evident lack of defense.
That’s why Stephen A. Smith put the players and the league on absolute blast during his latest appearance on First Take.
“What transpired last night was an absolute travesty,” Smith said.

He called the game an absolute travesty, and even claimed the league should get rid of everything but the 3-point contest.
Smith only praised the three-point contest and the challenge between Sabrina Ionescu and Stephen Curry because they were the only players who actually seemed to try.
He asked why the fans should watch when there’s a clear disregard for defense or effort, stating that the fans would be happy to watch them try as hard as they do when they’re working out in the summer.
Truth be told, it’s hard to defend this from a fan standpoint, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see if most fans decided to skip the event next year.
