Players have seemingly grown increasingly more agitated with how sports are covered in the media, including former NFL star Terrell Owens.

Owens is no stranger to criticism as he’s been blasted online and in TV shows, including on ESPN.

Owens decided to make waves this past week when he shared an old clip of him on ‘First Take’ with Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman.

In the video, Owens takes a shot at Smith by saying Kellerman ‘almost seems blacker’ than he is.

Smith immediately takes exception to the comment before the video cuts off.

However, when the clip resurfaced Smith called out Owens via his Twitter account.

“Now….as for this dude, that’s an entirely different story. You know how I feel about your sorry a** @terrellowens and you know why! You should thank your Heavenly Father I haven’t zeroed in on you with the trifling s*** you tried to pull. Tell folks to ask ESPN what your desperate a** tried to pull. Keep on talking. Eventually, you’ll expose yourself!#REALFACTS,” Smith tweeted.

It’s unclear what Smith means when he accuses Owens of doing things behind the scenes at ESPN, but it must be bad enough for the ‘First Take’ host to bring it up as a way to shut the former wide receiver up.

So far, Owens has pleaded ignorance to what Smith said about exposing him.

With Week 2 on tap, football fans are apparently seeing another rivalry play out online between Smith and Owens.
