The New York Knicks crawled before they could walk.
Now, with Mikal Bridges there, they hope they can sprint.
At least, that’s how Stephen A. Smith seems to think.
Years after infamously stating that the Villanova Wildcats didn’t have a single NBA prospect on their roster, Smith is celebrating that his beloved New York Knicks have added a fourth Nova product to their roster.
That’s how quickly things can change in sports.
The renowned pundit took to Twitter to share a hilarious clip of him reacting to Adrian Wojnarowski breaking the news of the Bridges trade, and he loved every single minute of it.

Smith acknowledged that Bridges isn’t a superstar by any means, but he also believes that he’s a seamless fit for their project.
He lauded him for being a great defender, his availability, how hard he plays, and he looked ecstatic about the move.
Stephen A. also admitted that the Knicks could still be one piece away, but he thinks they’re ready to make a big splash in the Eastern Conference.
Some might feel like the Knicks overpaid for Bridges, and that makes sense.
Then again, they were the only team — given their context — that could’ve afforded to do so, and he could be the X-Factor they need to get over the top.
The band is back together, and the present and future of the ever-struggling Knicks franchise is looking as bright as ever.
