The New York Knicks silenced a lot of critics this season.

Tom Thibodeau reportedly entered the season on the hot seat, and they drew plenty of criticism for all the money they gave to Jalen Brunson.

Fast forward to today, and some think they have a legit chance of upsetting the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs, and who knows, maybe even go a little further.

And while Brunson, RJ Barrett, and Julius Randle deserve plenty of credit for that, Immanuel Quickley’s contributions cannot be overlooked.

That’s why well-known Knicks fan Stephen A. Smith claims that he’s going to give him his vote for Sixth Man of the Year, although he claims that the Boston Celtics’ Malcolm Brogdon is also deserving of the award.

I am (probably) giving my Sixth Man of the Year vote to Immanuel Quickley.

Quickley is the oddsmakers’ favorite to win the distinction as we speak right now, regardless of the fact that he also started 21 games for the Knicks this season.

Whether it was coming off the bench or on the first unit, Quickley was always an offensive catalyst for Tom Thibodeau’s often-stagnant offense.

His shot-making ability was borderline ridiculous, and it seemed like there was no bucket he couldn’t get.

Quickley reminds us of a younger version of Jamal Crawford, who also happened to be one of the greatest sixth men this game has ever seen.

The third-year guard was also linked with trade rumors, and he responded by averaging a career-high 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals, and 2.1 three-pointers per game in almost 29 minutes a night, so he’s for sure a fine candidate for this award.
