The Golden State Warriors need Klay Thompson at his best if they want to stand a chance to win a championship this season.
They might not even be a playoff team unless he gets his act together.
Thompson has struggled mightily this season, and the worst part about that is that he’s on the verge of signing a new contract.
He’s clearly angry about the way the media and the fans are talking about him, and he recently burst out against his haters by stating that those who criticize him cannot do what he does.
That’s why ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith didn’t mince his words against him.
In the latest edition of “First Take”, Smith stated that Thompson shouldn’t be talking like that when he’s playing like “hot trash.”

Perhaps that’s a little too harsh, but Thompson isn’t playing up to his usual level, and that’s just a fact.
We’re talking about one of the single greatest 3-point shooters of all time, so maybe we should start giving him the respect he deserves.
Then again, he should also be held accountable and acknowledge that he’s not playing up to his level as opposed to getting into fights with the media or the fans.
Thompson is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer, and no one can take anything away from him.
That’s precisely why the Dubs need him to take a deep look in the mirror and go back to being the player he was during the best years of the dynasty.
