Stephen A. Smith was just one of the millions of people shocked and impressed by the Minnesota Timberwolves during Monday night’s Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets.
On Tuesday morning, he expressed just how blown away he was on “First Take.”
Speaking to Timothy Legler and Shannon Sharpe, Smith said that not only does he believe the Nuggets could be swept in this series, but he also thinks the Timberwolves are now the favorites to win this year’s championship.

Game 2 was incredible for a number of reasons and it really showed the world what the Timberwolves are capable of.
They won by 26 points, their largest road win in franchise postseason history.
Perhaps more impressively, they led Denver to deliver their fewest points in a game at home since 2015.
They did all of this against the current champions of the NBA, showing just how dominant they can be.
Thanks to Monday’s game, many more people think that the Timberwolves really have what it takes to win the entire season.
If they are able to defeat the Nuggets, it’ll be such a sign of their power that everyone will expect so much more from them.
Despite what some people say, this series isn’t over yet.
If any team is able to climb back from a 0-2 hole, it’ll be the Nuggets.
Of course, they won’t be able to do that if they keep playing as they did during Monday’s game.
They will have to essentially rework all of their plans and change their entire approach to the Timberwolves because what they are doing clearly isn’t working.
