Steph Curry has been one of the best basketball players on the planet for the better part of a decade.
He has transformed the league with his elite three-point shooting, the greatest of all time when it comes to this metric.
Curry isn’t just known for his on-court prowess.
He has come out with several shoes that have been successful, and his latest business endeavor has to do with something that happened at this year’s Olympics.
During the gold medal game against France, Curry held up two hands next to his head, a sign many people know as “night night.”
According to attorney Josh Gerben, Curry has trademarked this phrase in French, which translates to “nuit nuit.”
Steph Curry has filed trademark applications in the EU and US to protect:
“NUIT. NUIT.”
The filings, made in the past several days, come after Fanatics released a shirt with Curry’s picture and the words “NUIT NUIT” appearing under it.#teamusa #usabasketball #stephencurry pic.twitter.com/HbRR4KX2Ky

Fanatics was able to help Curry capitalize on this momentum, as Gerben highlighted, putting out a shirt with this saying on it.
Some people viewed Curry’s actions as disrespectful to his French opponents, but for him, this was just another form of trash-talking.
With a team full of All-Stars and potential Hall of Famers, they were expected to deliver in a big way.
Curry was a big part of their success and made sure to let everyone in the building know it during the gold medal match.
It will be interesting to see if Curry continues to put out merchandise with this saying on it, and how much longer this phrase will be relevant in the cultural zeitgeist.
