Former NBA star Stephon Marbury spent multiple years playing for the New York Knicks and the team holds a very special place in his heart all these years later.
He is also a native of New York, which means he takes great pride in everything the team is achieving.
Marbury appeared on the latest episode of “7 PM in Brooklyn” and said Knicks star Jalen Brunson should absolutely be in the conversation for MVP this season.
“Not only is he pushing his team forward, but he’s pushing them forward with them playing the game the way how he plays it,” Marbury said of Brunson.

Marbury said that Brunson has changed the team to follow in his footsteps.
Even without Julius Randle on the court, the Knicks have found a ton of success because of the playing style and leadership skills of Brunson.
Since joining the Knicks at the start of last season, the team has played much better.
Brunson has been at the center of it all, making plays, building strong chemistry, and helping to unlock something very special that was missing from the Knicks for years.
That has been on full display, especially recently.
The Knicks have now won their first two games of the playoffs, beating the Philadelphia 76ers and inching closer to making the second round.
In the weeks leading up to the playoffs, New York was competing at an impressive level and Brunson was dominant and skilled with how he led.
All of this has come together to give the Knicks a very good chance of going far in the postseason.
Will Brunson be able to lead them to the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond?
If so, there will be even more talk about him winning MVP.
The Most Valuable Player award won’t be his this year but if Brunson performs like this in 2024-25, he could easily earn the trophy.
