For years, Steve Kerr has found plenty of success with the Golden State Warriors.
However, he’s now out of his comfort zone, as he’s been given the task to coach the best American NBA players and lead Team USA to the ultimate prize.
With that in mind, it seems like he’s had to toughen up a little and be more assertive with his players.
Team USA barely escaped with wins vs. South Sudan and Germany, two teams they should’ve beaten by a margin.
That’s why, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Coach Kerr has called them out after a film session.

Per Windhorst, Kerr was overly critical of their effort — or lack thereof — in those two games.
He reportedly wants the players to take this seriously and play with the kind of pace and effort that they’re capable of.
Windhorst pointed out that Serbia is one of the strongest contenders for the gold medal, so Team USA will have it’s work cut out for them early in the tournament, and they will want to bring their A-Game for that high-flying matchup.
On paper, the Americans have more than enough talent to dominate their way to the gold medal.
By no means can they go back to their old ways, and they must approach this tournament as seriously as it is.
