The defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors are two losses away from seeing their season end, with the Los Angeles Lakers coming out on top in Game 3 on Saturday night in Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena.

Much like the Warriors crushing the Lakers in Game 2 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, Los Angeles was able to bounce back and do the same to Golden State in Game 3, but some have argued that a lot of calls in Game 3 unjustly went in the Lakers’ favor.

On Sunday, ahead of Game 4 in Los Angeles on Monday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was asked about the calls made in Game 3 and whether those calls were the reason for the loss to the Lakers.

In classic Kerr fashion, the longtime head coach of the Warriors admits it wasn’t the calls made in Game 3 that directly resulted in the loss and that it was his team’s performance via 95.7 The Game.

“We didn’t lose the game because of the officials so there’s no point in whining about anything. There were definitely calls we didn’t like but every game every coach can say that. This is not about anything other than our performance.”

Unlike Doc Rivers of the Philadelphia 76ers, who complained about missed calls in Game 4 of their series with the Boston Celtics, even though they won the game, Kerr knows nothing good comes from whining about the officiating.

Kerr’s response is precisely the kind of mindset that has made him so successful as a head coach and working on winning a second straight title for the Warriors.

With the Lakers now sporting a 2-1 series lead, the pressure will be on for the Warriors to get a win in Game 4 before the series shifts back to the Bay Area for Game 5, which will potentially be a close-out game for the Lakers if Golden State can’t come out on top on Monday in Los Angeles.
