Things got off to a great start for Team USA the other day as the squad easily took down Serbia 110-84.

It was a terrific way to begin their time at the Paris Olympics but head coach Steve Kerr isn’t ready to kick back and assume the gold medal is guaranteed.

Speaking to Sam Amick, per Legion Hoops, Kerr said he has plans for the Americans moving forward.

And for his next order of business, Kerr said, “It’s time to get Steph Curry going.”

That statement from Kerr may have just sent a shiver down the spine of all opponents.

When Curry is hot, he is red-hot and no one knows that better than Kerr.

Kerr has worked closely with Curry for years and they have collectively turned the Golden State Warriors into an NBA dynasty.

If anyone can give Curry the keys he needs for success, it’s Kerr.

During the game against Serbia, Curry scored 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists during his 21 minutes on the floor.

He went 4-of-8 from the field and 3-of-7 from the three-point line.

That three-point stat is definitely what Kerr is thinking of when he talks about letting Curry get going.

If Curry can flip his switch and start raining shots from beyond the arc, Team USA will have a much easier time claiming victories.

Of course, Kerr has a delicate balancing act as the team’s head coach.

He needs to give multiple A-list stars time in the game and if he fails to share the court well, he will hear about it.

But he also needs to set the team up for the most success and give them the best chance of winning.

It’ll be interesting to see what changes Kerr makes during Team USA’s game against South Sudan.

Will Curry light up the scoreboard?
