Team USA has faced several tough teams so far in the Paris Olympics but they are about to take on a juggernaut.
The Americans will square off against Nikola Jokic and his Serbian squad on Thursday and head coach Steve Kerr knows that it’ll be challenging.
Speaking with Rachel Nichols, Kerr called Jokic “the best player in the world” and said his squad will need to keep “leaning into” their depth and defense.
Despite the difficulty of taking down Jokic, Kerr still believes that his team has what it takes to push past Serbia and continue its march to a gold medal.

Many people assume that Serbia is a one-man team that consists of Jokic and only Jokic.
But part of what makes this group so dangerous is that there are several strong players on the roster.
There is no doubt that Jokic is their star player but multiple forces on Team Serbia could cause problems for the Americans.
With that being said, Kerr has a plethora of amazing talent at his disposal.
When Team USA was created, there was a strong focus on depth.
They wanted a bench that was full of superstars and that is exactly what they have now.
That second unit will need to show up in a big way during the game against Serbia and it can’t all be on the shoulders of Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Steph Curry, and others.
If everyone contributes and follows the game plan laid out by Kerr, the Americans have a good chance of stopping Jokic and his team.
This is Team USA’s biggest moment yet and it’s time to see if they can rise to the challenge.
