The Golden State Warriors didn’t pull off a win against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, despite the fact that Luka Doncic was out of the game due to a minor injury.
They really wanted the victory, especially at this point in the season, so the loss was doubly disappointing.
But head coach Steve Kerr was very impressed by his team, even if they didn’t walk away victorious.
“Love the way our guys fought … amazing effort. I love these guys,” Kerr said to NBC Sports after the game.

This team has been inconsistent all season long, painfully up and down with some shocking losses and too few impressive wins.
But Kerr has never wavered on his belief in the team.
He knows what they are capable of and is astonished by how hard they fight, win or lose.
Their commitment to fighting is the reason why the Warriors are still in contention for the upcoming Play-In Tournament.
They are the tenth seed in the West with a 42-35 record, despite several truly devastating losses earlier in the season.
Just a few months ago, many people assumed that the Warriors were going to miss the playoffs entirely and now they have a chance of making it, if they win the Play-In.
It looks like they will be matched against the Los Angeles Lakers in that approaching tournament.
If they wish to beat that team, they will need to continue putting in the sort of amazing effort that Kerr was celebrating on Friday night.
There was a time when this was the most dominant team in the NBA but that obviously wasn’t the case this year.
Still, Kerr thinks that his team is filled with tough, determined fighters who aren’t willing to give up.
