Everybody in the National Football League seems to have a different opinion on Florida’s Anthony Richardson.
He reportedly put on a show at his Pro Day for NFL scouts, executives, and coaches in attendance with some impressive throws and arm strength, rounding up an impressive performance at the NFL Scouting Combine to keep raising his stock ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft.
But as good as he was and as obviously athletic as he is, there are still those who think he’s too much of a gamble at this point.
That’s why NFL legend Steve Smith Sr. wanted to make it clear that passing on this young man is a massive mistake, going as far as to compare him with passing on Tesla or Amazon.

That’s some high praise coming from one of the most proficient wideouts of his generation, and one that might come back to haunt the teams that don’t want to take a chance on him.
Richardson’s physical traits are remarkable.
He’s 6-foot-4, 244 pounds, and has a cannon for an arm, not to mention his quick first step, lateral quickness, and elusiveness.
But his numbers at Florida weren’t exactly impressive, and that 53% completion percentage will be a major question mark for scouts, even after watching hours of film and those beautiful throws he made at Gainesville during the Pro Day.
What’s almost a guarantee is that he’ll be gone in the first five or ten picks come April 27, but it’ll be up to him to honor Smith’s words once it’s all said and done.
