For weeks, people debated whether the Charlotte Hornets should use the No. 2 pick to get Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller.

While Henderson seemingly had the higher upside, Miller was a seamless fit for the team’s needs, especially considering they already had LaMelo Ball.

And now that they’re getting ready to make their Summer League debut, the team’s coach seems thrilled by the fact that they went with the Alabama product instead.

When asked about his first impressions of Miller, Summer League coach Marlon Garnett raved about Miller’s feel for the game, defensive upside, and ability to create for others as a passer as well.

Notably, most scouts raved about Miller’s scoring prowess, highlighting his ability to score from all three levels.

He’s an efficient scorer with a deep bag of moves.

Nonetheless, his defense and passing could be what actually makes him stand out from the rest of the pack once he gets settled.

He — infamously — admitted that Paul George is his GOAT, and the early comparisons between the two aren’t that far-fetched.

Miller also has the potential to be a two-way superstar, and he’s a better ball-handler and playmaker than George was at that stage in his development.

He needs to bulk up and add more muscle to his upper body, so he can be more aggressive in drives, finish through contact, and get to the line more often.

But he’s got the whole package to be a star in this league.
